Where do we meet?

We meet every Monday from 7.30 to 9.15pm at Saalbau Dornbusch (Eschersheimer Landstraße 248, 60320 Frankfurt), close to the U-Bahn station “Dornbusch” (U1, U2, U3, U8 and U9).

Please try to arrive a bit early so you have time to get settled and network with our guests and each other.

What does a meeting look like?

A typical meeting starts with the Club President or the ranking Executive Committee member opening it. Then, the Toastmaster of the Evening takes over. He or she welcomes members and guests. Guests can introduce themselves and maybe say a few words on their expectations and how they found out about Toastmasters. Afterwards the Toastmaster of the Evening explains the different meeting roles.

Below you can watch a video produced by Toastmasters International to see how a typical meeting at Toastmasters looks like.

Usually, there are three prepared and timed speeches with specific objectives. Depending on the level of the members speaking these speeches can range from very basic to highly advanced. After each speech, everybody can give a brief written feedback to the speaker. In addition, all speakers have dedicated evaluators who will give a verbal and written assessment.

After a little break it’s Table Topics time. Everybody can volunteer to speak for one to two minutes on a topic they don’t know about before. There’s no better way to train your speaking skills! Table Topics are evaluated like the prepared speeches.

The meeting concludes with the different verbal evaluations and reports to make sure that everyone receives proper feedback—a crucial part of the Toastmasters learning experience.

After the meeting we go to a nearby restaurant for a few drinks and something to eat.
